Custom Bar Millwork: Bar Fronts, Back Bars & Bar Tops
PhillBuilt builds custom bar millwork for restaurants, cocktail bars, wine bars and cafés. We fabricate bar dies and bar fronts, back bars, bar tops, wine displays and the seating around them in our own shop in Rancho Cordova, California, and deliver them ready to install.
What we build
- Bar fronts and bar dies: fluted, slatted, paneled, curved, or carved by hand
- Back bars: open shelving, floating shelves, arched niches and lit bottle displays
- Bar tops and serving counters: solid hardwood, including dovetailed solid white oak tops
- Wine walls and wine display cabinets
- Bar seating: stools, wall rails and benches
Bar projects
Holy Spirits, Sacramento. A wine and cocktail bar: a fluted white oak bar front, front retail counter cabinetry and shelving, a tall white oak wine display cabinet, and perimeter benches with bent-laminated low-profile backs.
Cantina Pedrigal, Folsom. A fluted bar die with arched back-bar niches, floating spirits shelves and globe sconces, set in a room of curved dark-stained banquettes.
Okesutora, Sacramento. Dovetailed solid white oak countertops for the main serving bar, alongside hand-turned spindle-back seating.
Slow and Low, Elk Grove. A white oak back bar with open shelving and floating shelves, a bar die and a floating soffit.
Franquette, West Sacramento. A rattan-fronted wine bar and a hand-carved solid oak counter panel that took more than 45 hours to carve.
Little While, San Diego. A curved white oak bar front and hanging soffit for a North Park café.
Built for a working bar
Bars get leaned on, kicked, splashed and cleaned every night. We build with solid hardwood, real joinery and durable finishes, and plan the details that make a bar work: footrails, equipment clearances, drink rails and lighting.
