Custom Lobby Furniture

Lobbies set the tone for a building. PhillBuilt builds custom lobby furniture for museums, offices, studios and hospitality spaces: front desks, check-in counters, benches, built-in seating, display casework and wall millwork, all made in our California shop.

Curved lobby front desk in the SFMOMA atrium, fabricated by PhillBuilt

Trusted for public, commercial and Michelin-starred spaces. We fabricated the curved front check-in desk at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), and built custom furniture for The Kitchen and Localis, both starred in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide California.

Lobby pieces we build

  • Front desks and reception counters, including curved reception desks
  • Lobby benches and built-in seating
  • Display casework and retail fixtures
  • Wall paneling, slatted walls and feature walls
  • Concierge and check-in stations for venues and hotels

Made for heavy public use

Lobby furniture takes more abuse than almost anything else in a building. We choose durable solid woods and finishes, build in protection for edges and kick zones, and add details like casters, cable management and lockable storage when the space calls for them.
