Custom Millwork for the Peninsula: San Mateo, Redwood City & Palo Alto
PhillBuilt builds custom office, restaurant and residential millwork for the San Francisco Peninsula. Our flagship Bay Area project is on the Peninsula: the 1X Technologies headquarters in San Carlos. We fabricate in our own shop in Rancho Cordova and our crew delivers and installs, so Peninsula teams get craft-level casework on a real schedule.
Case study: 1X Technologies HQ, San Carlos
Humanoid-robotics company 1X needed its new San Carlos headquarters finished fast. The design called for two walls of open, adjustable cherry shelving, each about 65 feet long, with built-in window seats and casework wrapped around six arched windows, each 18 feet wide.
- Timeline: about four weeks from first call to finished install
- Material: cherry shelving, casework and window seats
- Challenge: curved, arched openings that had to be measured on site and built to fit in the shop
- Install: after-hours work so the office could keep running
